I am new to ubuntu, I have only put a few hours into it so far. I like what I see. It seems like ubuntu server is THE best way to go for a web server, but I need some help setting my server up. So here I go:

I am trying to make a web server, I have SSH and LAMP working but now I need to secure my server. I want it to be as secure as possible, such as using the following:

SSL - self-signed
Encrypt Files/Drives
Firewalls and Security Programs
Changing Permissions to only the nessary
Time is sadly not a problem, I have to much free time anyways.

Right now I am just getting use to using the server and how to set things up, everything locally right now. In about a month I will be getting the netgear N750, and I will need help setting up remote access to my server - securely. So I also need some help on setting up remote access too.

I know this is alot of work, so thank you in-advance to anyone who helps. Any links, tutorials, information to help me is appreciated.

Thank you.
