Hi,
I would appreciate some help on getting ubuntu 11.04 working on my Acer Aspire Laptop.

I have been able to run the live cd, albeit by checking the options
acpi=off
noapic
nolapic
edd=on
nodmraid
nomodeset

I also added the fb=false to the boot options line.

When I have installed, however the sytem does not load and all I have is a blank screen
Holding the shift key does not bring up any options.

I include the boot info

Thank you.

Hi, I am not a expert on reading the boot script information but I do not see anything wrong with yours.

I suspect that you need to use nomodeset option, I am including a link for that but you will need to be able to get into grub.

After using the live cd to boot up; I have updated grub with nomodeset option and it works. Thanks
