can any one tell me how to install ubuntu with out dual boot

have you tested ubuntu out first ? I wouldn't suggest wiping out your other partition (windows most likely) without testing ubuntu.

Especially if you are a gamer, as some things don't work right too well in linux. Gaming is better than it used to be, but still not 100%.

Sure, but I need to know a bit more. Do you want to install it as the only thing on the machine? Or do you want to install from within windows? What is the state of the machine now? What hardware do you have? Do you have any experience with ubuntu?

Same as with dual boot, just select the entire disk for the installation.
