Since we've been talking about aliens and UFOs lately, I thought I'd throw out this trailer for the new John Carter movie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Rf55GTEZ_E) coming out next year.

What do you guys think?

Since it has been 50 years since I read All the Burroughs books, Martian series, Tarzan, etc, my first reaction was "Are they just now making it into a movie?"

Checking Wikipedia, i found out they started back in the 3o's and a lot of problems developed along the way.

Someone else did make a direct to DVD video in 2009.

Unless they have done something really different with the special effects, I am afraid it will be just one more action film, which I don't watch. I might watch John Carter for sentimental reasons. Burrough's books were fun reads at one time in my life.

Just from viewing the trailer, it looks like there will be a lot of action, but much classier than your run-of-the-mill shoot 'em up movies.

I hope so, that would make it worthwhile.

Not impressed...The "Martians" look just like us...Looks like your typical action thriller where one hero saves the world. *yawn*
