upgrading hard ware ubuntu install

i am upgrading my pc hardware with amd 965x4 64bit.

i am installing ubuntu 64bit and ubuntu studio 64bit. 11.04

my question is not so much about compatibility as it is about the install process. since ubuntu checks for hardware ect. would i want to install it before or after i upgrade the hardware, or would it make a difference?

In linux drivers are part of Kernel so it doesn't matter if you install it before or after.

that is unless you are currently using 32 bit processor in which case you own't be able to install 64bit os.

right now i have a core 2 duo e4500, and i believe i have installed 64bit versions of ubuntu before, but i certinly overlooked that little catch.
