Hello,
I am very new to ubuntu and must say it is great to use. I am learning so much every day from it..
Anyway the other day I was updating my wifes laptop and the power cut out switching the laptop off. The battery is very old and only works on AC power. So when I turned the laptop back on it loaded as normal to the login screen. However it had a black backround and a blue box to log in, and thats it. From there I cant do anything, the mouse pointer does not work, and I cant bring the terminal up with cntl, alt, and F1.
I tried the recovery mode, (like windows recovery with networking) but that gave me a long list and that didnt seem to work, but I am not sure....
Can someone help.
Thank you.
