11.04 on a 4GB Hard drive

For a few years now, I've been running Ubuntu on my Dell Mini 9 netbook which has a 4GB hard drive. When I went to install 11.04, I was told that i must have at least 4.4 GB of available drive space. Obviously I don't have that. Is there any way I can install without having the extra drive space?

Try Lubuntu 11.04, not only it takes less space, but is faster too.
