Hi I am looking to spend some good money on a laptop and I want a laptop that has top GPU performance in Ubuntu. Is Intels HD GPU the best in Ubuntu or a Nvidia one with propriety drivers ? Also I want Ubuntu to be my main OS but plan on using virtualbox to install 3 or 4 OS's with 1 being windows 7 and I want the laptop to have more than 4 cores. Any models that work flawless for my needs ?? Recent 2011 or 2010 laptops.

Nvidia on laptops - search forums for Optimus issue. it often doesn't work.
also top GPU performance - for new hardware with TOP performance linux drivers are usually not done yet. for a little less than top ATI and nvidia are fine.

Any particular reason you ned a laptop and not a desktop? anyway i think most have 4 cores max at least on notebooks.

i mean if you need power and such you should consider desktop.
