Do you use the scale function in compiz to easily switch between open (not minimized) programs?
I will not try to explain cause a video is better. (scale feature starts at 4:00)

Yes, it's virtually the only method I use to switch programs, but the Activities overview in Gnome Shell is better designed.

Yes, the Scale feature in compiz allows you to switch between windows that are open rather than ones that are minimized. Have you tried to use the Scale feature?
