My new PC fails boot when having my IDE DVD drive connected. If the drive is removed the OS boots up without any issue.
Once the PC is powered ON, the grub menu shows up, but when Ubuntu 10.10 is selected I get a blank screen with a blinking cursor on the top left corner and I have only option to force shutdown the CPU.
ON selecting windows 7 i'm able to boot successfully and use the DVD drive without any problems.
