View Full Version : [gnome] AWN avant window navigator - Show dock on super key

July 9th, 2011, 12:47 PM

I'm using the awn dock bar with Gnome. It's on the top of the screen and shows up only when pointing the mouse there. Because this can get quite annoying when wanting to move windows etc. I would like the dock only to show up when I press the super key or no window is in the way (the second thing already works).

Is this possible?

Hi and Welcome

It may be possible to make a shortcut to reveal Awn . I don't know what version of Ubuntu you are using , I am Using 11.04 Unity and the super key already has a function .

Look in key board shortcuts and that will give you some ideas . Keep in mind Compiz key bindings as well if you have it .

I use 11.04 too but with Gnome.
I can't find useful options in the key shortcuts or compizconfig.
It would be useful if there was a command to hide/show which i can then start with compiz, but the dock would still show up when pointing...
