View Full Version : [gnome] OpenSUSE and Fedora Live CD Problem

First, sorry that this doesnt involve ubuntu in particular for those out there who care.

So, back to the problem. When I run the opensuse live cd, it goes fine until it tries to show the desktop. Then the screen is a series of checkered boxes with lines running through them. I dont know that the problem is, but I tried both the 32bit and the 64bit version, and the same result :(. And then with fedora. It loads to show the desktop, but it ends up just being sort of a "skeleton" of the Gnome shell. it has all the right panels and toolbars and everything, but it is all empty and nothing works. Suggestions? Is it my laptop or the cd or what???

try adding

nomodeset

on boot. also ask on their forums instead of here. people will know more about the issue and be able to help you better.
