At the time of Jules Vern this was sci-fi a bit on the crazy side, but in the modern world, it is just silly. How scientifically illiterate does one have to be to actually believe that? I would imagine a lot.

It also worth noting that the recent film "Journey to the Center of the Earth" did not go with the "hollow earth" idea but rather with the idea of something live very deep and large caves.

Ah, but did you ever cheat? I've got to admit, the whole "everything is fine, everything is good, BAM! You're dead!" plot thing most of them did was pretty annoying, and encouraged flicking back and trying a different decision.

Have you ever save/load cheated on a video game.

Those books were simple video games on paper. You follow the written instructions (as opposed to CPU op-code) and you replace the graphics by good literature. You can argue that it was easier to cheat, but most video-games have trainers and such that let you cheat on a computer as well.

Not all books were equal either. Some expected you to make "the right choice" and right was completely arbitrary and devoted of logic (you reached an intersection, do you go A) left or B) right, you go left and bam! you are dead, or even worse, you die 20 chapters later). Some were ridiculously hard, if you played by the rules, you had 1/100 chance of success. Some were just broken as you were unable to reach a good end no matter what (i.e. you had to gather things from both left and right and you couldn't do both).

But some of them were really good. Interesting and well balanced, encouraging you to not only play fairly, but also improve your game to get a better score.

Sure, and it's made me feel a little bit dirty every time. But sometimes when you've invested a lot of time in something, it's pretty tempting.

LOL Hallow Earth is a joke. Funny part is some actually believe it. If earth was hallow it wouldnt contain enough mass to bend space time to create the gravity we have nor would we believe alive without the EM field caused by Earth core.

well,

I'm already known as "commander of the tinfoil hat brigade" around here Im sure..
So I will share my 'lunacy' and go ahead and say that it may actually not be soo 'crazy'..

I used to think it was "crazy"..
Then I read a bunch of material on it, and watched some things that made me question just how 'crazy" and "impossible" it was..

I don't care what anyone thinks,
Now, I actually don't doubt it . lol :P

There is a lot of material, Some of it very ancient that makes one question..

There is also a whole lot of rubbish and crap around that I wouldnt put any thought into regarding some of the theories..

But some of it...
I do have to keep an open mind on.

Everyone "knew" the Earth was "flat" once also..
and you were a lunatic who didnt deserve to live if you said otherwise.

Only Truth i know is that we don't know squat..
and we should stop pretending that we do.

We might actually learn something new!
:P

lol,
That's what i used to think.
But really.. How can you, I, or anyone, say that with absolute certainty?
Really?
Is our science/physics that 'concrete'?
It most certainly isn't.
Though many in the scientific world like to keep pretending it is.

Funniest part is, People love to fool themselves into thinking they know these "facts", and that things could never possibly work any differently than what our books tell us.

I used to be one of them. lol :P

Not with my gravitational field distortion generator. If I can interface it with my zero point energy module, I can create a pinch in space-time that isolates me in my own universe for as long as I see fit.

its possible the earth is hollow, we don't know much about our planet, for example see how vast the oceans are, the area covered by the oceans is very much larger than the land area. The oceans contain massive mountain ranges that dwarf the land based ones.

Even today with all our space technology we have not fully understood our oceans and seas, or even explored them fully.

Many people still believe the moon landing was faked, and that the whole thing was filmed in a studio.

Dustin2128
July 9th, 2011, 07:00 PM
Well, you can actually bounce a laser off the mirrors left by the moon landing, but I doubt that would convince such people. Hollow earth is at least ten times more insane than moon landing hoax.

Well to be honest, I did give this idea some thought at one time. I didnt want to lol it off and look like a fool like half the world did when we found out the the world was really round and not flat. So I gave it some thought and ran it past my physics model I use and it just doesnt tally out. I use a slightly different model then Albert did that combines both general and special relativity based on some changes I made that I can not currently discuss. But the numbers didn't tally out. :(
I am a realist when it comes to aliens and UFOs, much of my research is based on practical application that do the most unsuspected things.

Well the earth isn't hollow but its not completely solid, after all aren't you people forgeting the mantle? Its liquid rock, as well as the outer core is understood to be as well, a even more denser liquid but meh.

Haha.. To bad they dont realize that Gravity is a by product of Mass and Density of an object in space.
Its like cause and effect. Mass and Density of an object bend spacetime that creates a indention in space time. The higher the mass and density the larger the indention in spacetime. The deeper the indention the more spacetime pressure is applied to an object. Its this pressure that pushes a object of less mass and density onto objects of higher mass and density. The effect is observed as gravity. But there is no gravity. Now this is one of my theories that in fact contradicts many current laws in physics. But IMHO until someone comes up with a mathematical equation that works of both general and special relativity at the same time, then its just as sound as theirs.

Here take a look at MY chart.

another Why is Time Speeding Up?
http://www.maya12-21-2012.com/why-is-time-speeding-up.html

Its natural effect of moving through space. A lot of scientist make the assumption that there is 1 big bang, which is false. Even if we had the fastest ship off startrek or starwars to our disposal we would take 100 years at best to ever travel as far as we can see into space as it is now.
So even though our small part is space may be traveling faster away from our perceived center, there is another part collapsing as we speak. Its a endless cycle of life renewing its self for eternity. One of the hardest part for humans is seeing past their own mindset.

I like Douglas Adams's theory on how to fly (http://www.extremelysmart.com/humor/howtofly.php).

There is an art, it says, or rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. Pick a nice day, [The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy] suggests, and try it.

The first part is easy. All it requires is simply the ability to throw yourself forward with all your weight, and the willingness not to mind that it's going to hurt.

That is, it's going to hurt if you fail to miss the ground. Most people fail to miss the ground, and if they are really trying properly, the likelihood is that they will fail to miss it fairly hard.

Clearly, it is the second part, the missing, which presents the difficulties.
