So, my brother is going away to collage soon, and wanted me to get his lappy running ubuntu. The prob is that he has a ppc. I am a x86/86_64 person myself so I am really lost. The laptop I am trying to install onto is a iBook with an 800mhz cpu, 640mb sdram, running Mac 10.4.11. I can't use a CD either, cause his drive is broke.

I tried following the walkthrough, but I keep getting the hdiutil error 22. I have tried a few different ones now, with the same result.

So, can someone help me out in formating a live ubuntu usb to be bootable either from Ubuntu, or *dows?

Or, if there is a mac user out there, can you create the img for me and update it somewhere?

The prob is that he has a ppc.

All I can find is Maverick for ppc.See here. (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PowerPCDownloads)More about Ubuntu & Mac you can read here. (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=427714)

Thanks for the response. I tried all that though.

I guess there isn't alot of ibook buntu users. Well, guess I will have to try and fix the cd drive. Guess I will just stick him with macports till I can figger it out.
