Heya,

i know there are many LiveCD's out there but i want to build my own one meeting my very special needs.

I just want to have some network-tools (nmap, hydra, ethereal, ettercap, etc), gnome and some other helpful tools to restore a broken system but no OpenOffice, games or email-clients.

Is there any way to build a customized, ubuntu-based liveCD ?

I googled around and found iBuild, but i prefer to have ubuntu as the base.

Thanks a lot :)

You could use the MKDistro Tool available on the live CD of Dreamlinux Studio Edition.

That's a very interesting question, I hope someone can come up with a good answer to it as I think I could find this very useful too.

Very Quick, indeed.
I'll try this, thank you very much. Maybe others have other ideas, too? :)

Try nubuntu, it's got all those tools, and more: http://www.nubuntu.org/

-nUbuntu may be cool, but it isn't a live-CD (or i just didn't found it).
-i want to be able to add tools, scripts and files to the liveCD as i need them
