Hi

I have an HP lappy with Ubuntu 9.04.I am trying to upgrade to 10.04 and getting the message

Failed to fetch http://ftp.iinet.net.au/pub/ubuntu/dists/jaunty-updates/main/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found
Failed to fetch http://ftp.iinet.net.au/pub/ubuntu/dists/jaunty-updates/restricted/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found

Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

My CD drive is not working and hence am not able to do a fresh install.

Can any one help me?

Thank You
Sathish

you are trying to upgrade end of life release. see how to do it here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EOLUpgrades

You are likely to get a faster and better result, if you try a live boot of the release you want followed by a fresh install. You can do this from a USB drive.
