There is a hardware switch for multiple computers to use one set of hardware (mouse, keyboard, monitor,...)

I attached a similar 'VGA switch', top-left = input, everything else = switchable output...

But that is probably not what you wanted :)

If you can connect the both computers to a local network, then you can "remote desktop" from Windows to Linux, without Linux having to have a monitor.

Take a look at the VNC software package (http://www.realvnc.com/), its free and multi OS.

Edit: PS. I found this (http://www.popwuping.com/gear/belkin-flip-monitor-sharing.php), but I still would go with the software solution over the hardware one ...

Have a look for a KVM switch (http://www.ebuyer.com/search?page=1&sort=relevancy&limit=10&q=kvm&filtersubcat=1272&filterpricebands=[0+TO+49.99]). They allow you to use one keyboard/monitor (video)/mouse with multiple computers.
