Hello all,
I'm not a hardcore user, so any computer lingo would probably be misunderstood. But any help will be really appreciated. I'm not horrible with computers, but I don't know a ton about code, etc.
I've only had windows all of my life and I want to change my 5 year old vaio to ubuntu. I've downloaded 11.04 and made a USB drive, like the ubuntu.com website says to do.
I've changed the BIOS settings and the computer is booting from the USB drive. When it boots, I click enter on the choice that says install Ubuntu on hard drive. It goes through the code, etc then goes to the ubuntu logo and looks like it's working.
Then it goes through even more code, and stops then keeps going again, and stops once more. I've waited here for a pretty long time and the last three lines say:
BusyBox v1.17.1 (Ubuntu 1:1.17.1-10ubuntu1) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.
(initramfs)
Sorry for the long post.
I'm just not sure what to do.
Help please
