I think it is better to get 11.04 to work rather than using an obsolete release of Ubuntu, which hasn't had any security updates for almost a year.

What exactly was the problem with 11.04?

I was asking for an exact description. What do you mean by 'freaking'? Please provide all details you can possibly think of.

Have you tried Xubuntu 11.04?

Freaking means when I restart system "ubuntu loading screen coming..its not going further step to login screen..even though I wait 30 to 40 mins of time.

and it has other problem ..i.e..after 30 mins LAN connection disconnecting.. then if I need LAN connection I have to restart system again...(this problem occurs in some systems only..)

11.10 is still in development. I would recommend Xubuntu 11.04.

It sounds like you need to add boot options. There are some links here:

You are welcome.

Xubuntu has Abiword and Gnumeric. I guess they are good for most people, but if you still want Open or Libre Office, the best is to install online through Synaptic. This will give you the newest packages.

I have also same problem. but i find the solution.
1)First connect to internet with the help of ethernet cable
2)Update all the system packages (goto ==> System ==> Administration ==> update manager ==> check all updates ==> install updates.)
Thats it problem solved.
