I recently availed the google apps including the mail services.

Previously I was using Server provided mail (POP3), which was easy to configure in evolution.

To configure gmail pop service on Evolution, I should have the following settings:
incoming server pop.gmail.com
Port 995
SSL Yes

Outgoing Server smtp.gmail.com
Port 465 or 587

How do I change the port in evolution.

just append the port to end of ip address such as

pop.gmail.com:995 where the :995 is the port.

could you mark this thread as solved so others know when searching ;-)
