Hi all,

I currently have Ubuntu 10.10 (32bit) installed, however I am considering updating to 11.04 (64bit). I understand that a complete format of the hard drive will be require / should be done. The OS is installed on a dedicated / separate hard drive.

The issue is, I currently have software RAID 5 setup on my system and was wondering would this result in the RAID being destroyed? If I can still retain the array could someone please provide me with some links / information on how to perform such an upgrade? I have tried searching on Google but am having some trouble due to not understanding what terms I should be searching for. As I noted, my OS is installed on a dedicated / separate hard drive.

Many thanks for your help in advance!

Would you elaborate a little? Where are your directories - /home? What's on the RAID5 and what is on the OS disk?
