Looking for some good animation programs, I really like the GUI and drawing tools of flash, but when I run it under wine some fonts just appear as squares, besides I want to test the waters with some other programs. On another note any good animators that use bones? like pivot points? Thaankks

What is available
of the top of my head
2D - Synfig
Pencil
KToon
older versions of moho and plastic animation paper
3D - Blender
Maya
Houdini
SoftImage
Realsoft3d
Art Of Illusion
Of these I would probably go with Pencil or flash+wine for 2D
and Blender for 3d (Unless I had some sort of budget)

I recently read about Synfig, and was happy to hear it has ActionScript support. :D

Whoever wrote that got it wrong. Synfig doesn't support AS. Sorry about spoling the fun :)
