The title says it all. I've been dedicated to Ubuntu since Gutsy, and I've been iso-testing for well over three years. Not to "toot my own horn" but I have reported, and helped fix, a few serious bugs.
I've recently been commenting here:
http://ubuntuforums.org/search.php?searchid=81727470
And it appears to me that a thread can survive quite a long time w/o participation from the OP if it has a "pro-Unity" title.
OTOH I started this thread in the "water cooler" asking, "What can you do with Unity or Gnome Shell that I can't do with Classic Gnome?"
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1763645
What was wrong with asking that question?
I was shut down in only a few hours :(
IMHO the mods, devs, and all users need to accept the fact that not everyone loves Unity/Gnome-Shell/Gnome3 and try to be accommodating regarding the DE options in Ubuntu rather than alienating those who dislike the newest changes :D
Do we want to be as inclusive as when I found Ubuntu or do we want to be exclusive?
I prefer being inclusive. While I now prefer Lubuntu there is no need to convince everyone that it's "the best", nor will Unity be "the best" for everyone, but it's particularly sad if we choose to shut down all negative comments about Unity and Gnome3.
I'd like to think the community is better and stronger than that :D
