Hey, I'm having a lot of problems getting ubuntu to run properly on my HP Pavilion dv3. My laptop wont install any operating system that inst Windows. When I try to install I get a black screen sometimes before and sometimes after the Ubuntu logo. I did manage to use a second laptop to install Ubuntu by swapping the hard drives. I am still getting the black screen when I try to boot. The laptop does however start if I take the cmos battery out for a hour.
Today I tries installing Linux Mint to see if it was a problem with my copy of Ubuntu but this time I can get to the options list which says "Start Linux Mint" as the first option and them has about 5 other options underneath but after this I get the error
"Loading isolinux: Disk error 04, AX 42BD, drive FE".
Can anyone help me out with this because I've had to install Windows 7 again (which boots perfect every time btw).
