Taskbar & Launchbar dissappear in 11.04

Hello Heroes,

I have a problem on my newly installed Ubuntu 11.04.

after I update the OS using the "update manager" usually both the "taskbar" & the "launchbar" just dissapear.

I already tried re-installing the OS 3 times now and every time same results :S

Does anyone have a clue how can I solve this ?

Do you retain your user profile when you reinstall?
