After recently upgrading from 10.04 to 10.10, a new error appeared: sometimes when I open a new window or a submenu, the place when it opens becomes black. Afterwards wrong content is displayed in this area.
I'm using gnome (2.32.0) as default DE.
Error tracking results:
- failure doesn't appear with lxde
- no problem during gameplay in WINE full window mode
- when I switch to guest session and then back to default user, the black box is not displayed for the guest, and comes back for user
- failure not reproducible with gnome+openbox
-> seems to be a problem with metacity
BTW, I'm using an older ATI card (128MB DDR, AGP 8x). As a temporary(?) solution, I moved to gnome+openbox as default.
