software sources issues.

ok so i got annoyed at things refusing to work properly for me in xubuntu 11.04 and decided to multiboot a distro that i knew worked for me, so i installed ubuntu 8.10 from a disk i had in my archives. i want to keep using 8.10 because i know it works for everything i want to do (mainly minecraft, music and internet)
now my issue is i want to download a few programs from the repos but its giving me 404's on all software sources, can someone give me all the info i need to update my software sources list?

8.10 is unsupported:

Better to try one of the supported releases.

yeah i discovered this the hard way. i might just reformat the entire thing and go an lts release.
