I want to install Ubuntu Server on my old macMini 1.1 replacing OS-X. Since there is a problem with my CD/DVD drive I tried to use a USB stick and followed the Ubuntu directions.
When I boot the machine with the USB stick in it pressing the ALT key I'm presented with a page with only the HD on it, not the USB stick. I don't see how to have the machine boot from a USB stick as that choice is not available under System Preferences->Startup Disk.
Is it possible to boot a mac Mini 1.1 OS 10.6 from a USB stick?
