View Full Version : [ubuntu] Monochromizing system icons in the panel

No, 'monochromize' is not really a verb, but it's what I'm trying to do.

I'm migrating from Dropbox to Wuala, and I'd like the Wuala icon in the panel to be monochromatic, like the others. I've already done this to the set of three different Wuala icons in usr/share/icons (in the attached screenshot, you can see it in the launcher -- it looks good in gray), but the one in the panel remains stubbornly red. It's an aesthetic distraction. Literally, as I'm writing this, instead of working.

Can anybody tell me where that icon for the panel is stored? I can't find the dang thing to edit it.

Many thanks,

Sean

Bump.

How hard would it be to have a compiz plugin or such that converted icons on the top panel to grayscale? Then users could enable it for any icon or indicator, instead of having a case by case solution.

Not a superhepful reply, but I love the monochromatic look and would also like to know how to do this.
