Which talk tool is the best for us linux users?

If you want to talk linux to linux with friends, use IRC (https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Internet_Relay_Chat) or Jabber (https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Jabber). Pidgin/Empathy etc can use both.

I'm with NWF on IRC. If you're looking for voice communication, mumble's a great VOIP app.
