Looking for help and some good tutorials

Im very new to ubuntu and am really just playing around with it. I've installed 10.04 on Oracle VM 4.0.8.
I cant find any very useful tuts on youtube or even google. I guess I mainly just want help getting started. I'm playing with some android projects ( very basic beginner ) like custom roms for phones. I finally figured out that the cursor doesn't move when u type your passsword in terminal. I come here in complete humility looking for help. Also with Synaptic. Thanks guys
