I have the same issue as described in

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1758080&page=3

on my Lenovo w500 which throws following error message while installing

Unexpected exit with status 0x0009

I think I traced down the problem to notebooks that have two graphiccards installed as the w500 has. One solution would be to deactivate the ATI card which I can't on my machine.

Well ... I guess 11.04 does not support Lenovo w500 :p

Well done!

From what I've seen here, this same problem has been present on Ubuntu versions older than 11.04 -- so, it's not a new problem.

And yes, everything I've seen about this requires disabling one of the graphics chips -- which, on some PCs, you apparently can NOT do.

Don't know what you want to say with your link?!

I did already some research on this topic - there is no solution and no fix - it simply does not work and has a bug.

However, there is a workaround to ignore one of the graphic cards. But thats nonsense as the 3d card only mode would drain your battery power and the 2d card only mode would not accelerate 3d applications/animations.
