Please Help!

I am trying to install Ubuntu on my laptop. It is a MSI X320.

I have created a USB stick with the latest ubuntu image on it and it works fine on another computer that I have.

After some issues getting it to boot properly, went through the installation and it completed successfully, but now, when I try boot into linux, it gets stuck at the following line:

[ 15.047506] [<c100367e>] ? kernel_thread_helper+0x6/0x10

I tried running it in recovery mode, but it keeps flashing the message:
controller never released inhibit bit(s) constantly.

Any suggestions? I tried this using WUBI before and had the same problem after installation.

Really need linux on this computer. Please help. Thanks in advance.

What kernel are you booting to? Try booting to an older kernel.
