Alright, I've tried asking this on Reddit twice and got no response, and I would just like a definite response.
My laptop is here:http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Studio-15-6-Inch-Chainlink-Laptop/dp/B002PY7OSA
And the external hard drive I just got is this: http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/products/external/external-hard-drive/portable-hard-drive (http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Studio-15-6-Inch-Chainlink-Laptop/dp/B002PY7OSA)
I know that my laptop has a Firewire 800 port, but what pin(s) does the cable need to be compatible with my laptop?
Whichever one I get, do most new laptops have that kind of Firewire port?
Thanks!
