What firewire pin cable do I need for my laptop?

Alright, I've tried asking this on Reddit twice and got no response, and I would just like a definite response.

I know that my laptop has a Firewire 800 port, but what pin(s) does the cable need to be compatible with my laptop?

Whichever one I get, do most new laptops have that kind of Firewire port?

Seagate's STAE102 is the accessory you need to give your drive a FireWire 800 port. You'll find it on here: http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/products/external/external-hard-drive/portable-hard-drive#tTabContentAccessories

I prefer to buy drives that have FireWire 800, eSATA, and USB all built-in, and they come with cables for all of those. Your drive is weird.

Are you sure it has a Firewire 800 port as the Dell website states it's an optional extra for your laptop?
If your laptop has a firewire port it will be the 4-pin version.

You need the FreeAgent GoFlex™ Upgrade Cable — FireWire® 800 STAE102 to give your drive firewire support.

You can also get the cheaper eSATA adapter, FreeAgent® GoFlex™ Upgrade Cable — Powered eSATA STAE103 as your laptop has a eSATA port.

Yeah I forgot to consider eSata. And after looking up comparisons, I'll just go for the eSata cable.

Is there any way to figure out if it's SATA 3.0 or 1.5?

No idea. You will have to check what the laptop has and what the adapter supports.

Before buying anything I suggest you verify your port types esata, esata/usb combo etc to make sure about compatibility.
