How to remove "Check Email" shortcut Unity?

I was wondering if it is possible to remove the "Check Email" shortcut you get when you press the super button in Unity.

I don't ever use email programs so the shortcut is pointless to me.

I was wondering too. Online email service is much more convenient. I have had Evolution uninstalled but the Check Mail button remains. How do I customize this?:confused::confused::confused:

If You want to remove the envelope on the panel try the following and logout/in or restart.

sudo apt-get remove indicator-messagesI don't use an email client either , I found I never used one when installed anyway .
