I use Ubuntu 11.04 with the "Ubuntu Classic (No effects)" desktop (Gnome 2, no Unity, no Compiz).
I have two monitors, both with the same resolution (1280x1024). They are connected to a nVidia card and configured as TwinView besides each other (primary to the left).
Most things works fine, but there are a few problems:
* The login screen appears on the right (non-primary) monitor.
* The Gnome panel appears only on the left (primary) monitor as it should. However, when I activate the menu it sometimes (apparently randomly) pops up on the right monitor.
* Applications and application popup windows appears on the wrong monitor sometimes.
