I've been looking into doing some customizations in my .bashrc and was checking out the thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=679762) here in CC. Lots of good stuff in there, but after looking through it, I started to wonder if those customizations could be applied to the login tty on a CLI installation. I've read elsewhere that files to work with are different than just .bashrc, but I'm not sure how old that info was and if it was still applicable. IIRC, one of them was saying the files were .bash-profile or .profile(?).

I mostly use ssh to login to the CLI installed machine, but I'd like for the customizations to work locally as well. Any advice or help in clearing this up is greatly appreciated.
