confirm details!!

i have an old pc which runs xp rite now ,256 mb ram.
going to put lubuntu on it.
to confirm whether:
1) microsoft office 2007 would work via WINE. plz mention d wine version.
2) i have internet usb adapter Benq (AW400), if installation is possible.
3) sound drivers n other drivers like video would be installed.

To check if Lubuntu will run on your old machine, try it first by booting from a CD or USB flash drive. That should tell you if your hardware will work. As for Microsoft Office 2007, I have read that has problems using Wine and doesn't function well, as 2003 did. I don't know that for a fact because I have never used it, but Lubuntu does come with Abiword which has most of the functions of Office.

you can always install openoffice or lebra office
i would not be surprised of MS office 07 needed 512 ram minimal (have not looked it up)
