I'm trying to install ubuntu 11.04 server onto a box that used to run Debian. I've (yesterday) installed ubuntu desktop successfully onto the box from USB, but I decided that ubuntu server would be a better option.
The box doesn't have a cdrom drive installed.
The creation of the usb stick from the ubuntu server disk image worked fine as far as i can tell, and the boot from USB starts fine, but the install fails at the step titled "Detect and mount CD-ROM". If I skip the step, the next step fails trying to mount the debconf configuration file from file:///carom/pressed/ubuntu-server.seed. I guess that's no surprise...
Is there a change I need to make to the iso to make it try to mount the USB image to /cdrom? Or is there a change to make the install script look at the USB mount point?
Or (and I'm hoping this is the one), is there a command line option I need to give the install at the first step that will make everything automagically work? :)
