Hi all,

A few years ago I was on a forum where a member regularly came up with outstanding YouTube videos typically consisting of classical music with breathtaking panoramas. I am at a loss as to know what to search for to find these videos again. A favourite non classical video of mine is "Time" by Pink Floyd. Here it is if you wish to view it -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntm1YfehK7U

Therefore I ask of you -

1. Nominate one or more of your favorite YouTube videos.

2. Offer any suggestions re what to search for. I know I can simply search for classical music, which I have done but haven't yet stumbled onto any combining good music and great videos.

I would like to create a library of what I consider to be classic YouTube videos.

Thanks for reading,

Cheers, :p

I don't know of any sites but I watched what I call Peter & the Wolf but for adults (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdWu0S6f7lk) this morning. But it's just as rich without looking at the video. It's the kind of piece where the performer has to show off the music rather than her virtuosic prowess, however complicated it is to play. Maybe that is why there aren't many video sites for (good) classical music, what exactly is there to watch? ;)

Thanks very much for that DZ*,

I listened and watched all of that performance. Miss Hahn was a fine soloist.

Maybe in my old age my memory is playing tricks, I think the trick is to find the performer of the piece. I just don't have a clue as to who was performing the videos I remember. Maybe I will have to crawl back (With my tail between my legs) to the old forum and re-establish contacts there.

Anyway, thanks very much DZ* for providing me with a fine performance.

Cheers, :)

Sorry for the double post -

I crept over to the forum I was talking about - it is a Seniors site - there was nobody around, it is after 1 a.m. here. I think I should make the effort and re-establish myself in the forum. The users are better than myself in chasing down Youtube videos.

Here are a couple of examples that appeal to me -

The point of Auto-Tune the News is that they take real news clips and autotune their voices so it sounds like they're singing. Some are funnier than others. A couple of their funny ones are The Bed Intruder Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMtZfW2z9dw&feature=sh_e_top&list=SL) and the Backin Up (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjYSERaXEGI&feature=sh_e_sl&list=SL) song. Just keep in mind that these people weren't singing in the interviews.

Another one I love on YouTube is Andy McKee. He is a maestro on the guitar. He can make it sound like about 3 or 4 people playing at the same time.

Aussiebean, I think you mean YouTube videos not YouTube sites. All the examples you give are just individual videos, not even channels or playlists, etc. Calling these "sites" is just confusing people.

Yes you are right Macskeeball, I made a big blue there! :(

And forrestcupp, I agree with your comments about Roger Waters who thankfully is still touring.

Edit - I think I will mark this thread as solved and open a new thread. (due to the confusion of name)

Hi all,

Having made a blunder with the previous Title, I decided to create a new thread.

If you have a favorite YouTube video, post it or nominate the artist here!

As a starting point, I will nominate the little Aussie songstress Kylie Minogue who continues to slay them all at her concerts. For a cheeky preview look here -

Thanks again to the contributors of the previous thread, I have kept all your nominations to peruse at my leisure.

Law Abiding Engineer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjGrHBpfqCo) - It's basically Law Abiding Citizen with the TF2 characters in it, and it's really well done.

He made The Demo Knight also, I'm going to check that out now.

Skyrim (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9eGtyqz4gY&feature=feedlik)

It's a funny animation that's really well done about the announcement of Skyrim.

<--- I've seen a lot of awesome videos related to my avatar, but I doubt anyone here would want to see them.

This is long but it's worth it. It shows more than I actually saw. He ends up being sentenced to 6 days in county jail and a $625 fine, including court costs. He chooses to appeal but his six days in jail will long be up by the time it gets to that He's remanded but Judge Perry (Awesome Judge!) has a capital murder case to worry about. Matt is actually the third person to have been found in contempt of court in this trial.

After a breast cancer scare in 1992 Olivia has been instrumental in fund raising for her new large Cancer and Wellness Center here in Melbourne.
