In the US. Saw the last total lunar eclipse though... amazing. Wish I had a proper astronomy camera to take a picture of it.

Just came to the conclusion my P&S is useless for this. You need a telescope with camera mount.

Apparently I am in the no-eclipse zone.

I'm not in the eclipse zone, although it would probably be cloudy even if I was.

It is possible to get decent, low-resolution eclipse photos with a ordinary camera and tripod. I shot these several years ago with a Canon 300D and a cheap 300mm lens.

Maybe something could describe it in real-time on the forum as it is happening ... Absolutely this would be silly ... or?

I couldn't see the last one in the U.S. unfortunately, I was in the middle of the city and I was away from my country home :-( Apparently it was also during the solstice. Which is a very rare happening. I know I jogged forever to try and find a viewing spot and still didn't find one. I'm gonna have to travel to see that again.
