I was curious if there is a linux equivalent or way to mimic VB. I need to for school and I can't use a virtual machine as I don't have a windows cd key.... Any help would be much appreciated.

Install the "Wine" package via the Applications > Ubuntu Software Center or via System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager.

Wine uses the Win23 API and will take VB calls.

It appears you can install VB through the winetricks script.
