View Full Version : [ubuntu] not showing any bar, not opening the terminal

I HAVE INSTALLED COMPIZ SOMETIMES BEFORE THE PROBLEM, THEN I HAD ENABLED CUBE DESKTOP. BUT AFTER REBOOTING, I COULDNOT SEE ANY KIND OF BAR(UTILITY BAR AND THE SIDE BAR IN NATTY NARWHAL).. HOW CAN I DISABLE CUBE DESKTOP AND HOW CAN I SEE THE BARS IN UBUNTU? PLEASE REPLY ME. I cant also open terminal...:(

I guess you are running Unity, you can login to a command prompt pressing Control+Alt+F2. Then type


unity --reset

Reboot and all should be fine (Worked for me at least)

after you have finished with this guide and you change other settings it will mess up your windows again so just log out and back in and they will be fixed.

yes, i tried, but the bars are disappeared from the desktop.. and terminal is not opening with the press of alt+ctrl+T.. so i cant uninstall compiz. please solve this problem.:popcorn:
