View Full Version : [ubuntu] no panels...

i just installed 10.04. i was playing with the settings in ccsm (which i also just installed) then something came up asking me to disable something, i did :( from then on no panels or left side launcher. if i type gnome-panel in the terminal i get the classic panels. i got the terminal by logging in on safe and putting it on my desktop.
this is without gnome-panel

please help i am slightly new so try to make it in easy terms.

Do you remember what it was that you disabled?

no, it was off screen so i could read it? it was something to do with the wall to change between work spaces. i was enabling desktop cube but it didn't finish and now i have this problem.

Try Alt + F2 , type gnome-terminal and select run . Try this command in the terminal if you are able to open it .
compiz --replace
