View Full Version : [xfce] SFTP, SMB bookmarks in Thunar are not persistent

When I drag a directory from an SFTP or SMB connected server to the side pane 'shortcuts', they do disappear after logout.

Are there any plugins available which provide some sort of persistent bookmarking for remote connections?

I'd like to see a list of 'greyed out' connection icons in the side pane which connect when clicked.

I don't want to use Nautilus, it's too bloated.

I have the same problem and it is probably the last thing which I dislike seriously in Thunar. Any solution/workaroud anyone, please?

I don't know of a fix to Thunar itself but you could use Gigolo: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9941016&postcount=3

That link talks about using Gigolo to automount at login but you don't have to use it that way. Just use it as a network browser. It has bookmarks that are persistent. And it can be used ssh, ftp, smb, ...

I've also had this problem. Very annoying.
