A lot of them, for a lot of purposes.

From repos or made by myself, from wireshark to netcat or python/bash scripts.

I thought that firestarter was not recommended for Ubuntu firewall configuration?

It's no longer maintained, but it's still in the repos. *shrugs*

I tend to suggest GUFW if you want a GUI to create firewall rules.

Nope.

The command line utilities are excellent, and scriptable.

I almost replied with netstat and dsniff until I realized it said GUI. :)

I use the gnome front end to the various network tools. (Such as ping, traceroute, etc). I also use Networkmanager or Wicd-Gtk on lighter machines.

Other then GFTP, I use old school CLI tools from gnome-terminal.
