I installed Eclipse using Synaptic Package manager. Then I tied to do an update using Eclipse, but
it does not upgrade to Eclipse Helios. I also went into eclipse Galileo's Windows Preference and add Helios download path and retry the update / upgrade via Eclipse Galileo. still did not get the upgrade to Helios.
I have now completely remove Eclipse via SYnaptic.

Now, I like to know how I can point Synaptic Package to Eclipse Helios to install it.
Currently, Synaptic manager only downloads Eclipse Galileo, which is about a year out of date.

Machine: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, amd64
Thanks.

I was actually wondering why we still don't have a "Helios" package in this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1816357

Unfortunately, I don't yet know of an easy way, either. Of course, one could always use some other way of installation, but packages are just more convenient.

I gave up upgrading Eclipse Galileo to Hellios.
Now they have another newer Eclipse version.
Anyway, I would just download Eclipse from Eclipse websit, then install it into a seperate folder.
