By the way I'm still on 9.04 do I need to update accordingly or can I just jump to 11.4? Read somewhere this may be the issue. I also DL'ed on a usb and wont boot from there either although I can see it in the OS and clicked/looked in all the folders to see if something can be done/happen but nothing.

Since the CD I made does register on my Windows OS would I be able to simply install Windows wiping out the original Ubuntu and then use my 11.4 CD to install via windows as if I never had Ubuntu?
