Hi
I'm v new to linux.
I installed docky and would like to get rid of the launcher pane (same thing, no?)- is that possible?
Also, I would like to include the search applications for files and applications from launcher on Docky.
Cheers

I imagine your currently using Unity
I would suggest , log out , log in under "classic" and configure docky from there
Personally I dont care for unity but I dont use docky myself , just suggesting a first step , if theres no thread activity in a day or so (im going to bed) ill read the docs on docky and help you out. But I imagine someone else should be along.

Ok
so first log into ubuntu classic
go into system -> preferences -> startup applications
and make sure docky is ticked
close startup applications.
then remove the panels
right click on the panel => delete this panel
do this to both of them
then launch docky
alt+f2 => docky
click on the docky symbol on the left of the new launcher
to bring you to settings
make sure "manage windows without launcher" is ticked
heres the link to the docky wiki
