Well I upgraded to 11.04 yesterday.
I did not like the new desktop menus, so I deleted and installed new ones in synaptic . . .. then upon reboot I only have a desktop image a couple of file/folders . . .and NO way to get into terminal or synaptic manager.
I was able to open the software center... added some dock menu apps, yet they did not load after restart either.
? How do I get into the terminal and reinstall proper gnome desktop ?
